Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), has said that Afghan refugees are a two-way problem, negotiations should be held with the Afghan government, and the procedure for their return should be decided by taking the Afghan government into confidence.
On the deadline for the return of Afghan refugees, the JUI chief said in a statement that legally living Afghans are also being blackmailed under the guise of illegality.
He further said that the local administration and influential people are blackmailing the legally residing Afghans, brutal behavior is being adopted to seize the properties of the Afghans.
Fazlur Rehman said that such actions will have a negative impact on relations with the neighboring country, and the issue should be resolved seriously through bilateral talks.
