Qadir Mandokhel leading, Miftah close behind

KARACHI: The counting of votes in NA-249 is continuing after the close of polling.

PPP’s Qadir Mandokhel is in the lead, with PML-N’s Miftah Ismail and TLP’s Nazeer Ahmed close behind.

According to unconfirmed and unofficial results of 64 out of 276 polling stations in the constituency, PPP’s Qadir Mandokhel is leading with 3125 votes while PML-N’s Muftah Ismail is on second position with 2939 votes.

Nazir Ahmed of banned TLP is third with 2726 votes, Mustafa Kamal of PSP is fourth with 2155 votes, Hafiz Muhammad Mursalin of MQM is fifth with 1834 votes and Amjad Afridi of PTI is sixth with 1615 votes.

Clash between workers of PTI, banned TLP

As counting of votes gained momentum at night with results starting to roll in quickly, reports of a brawl between workers of the ruling PTI and the banned TLP emerged.

The workers reportedly threw chairs at each other, during a clash outside the PTI election office.

Later, though counting underway in more than half of the polling stations, PTI workers wrapped up and left the election office, reported a TV channel.
