PTI Punjab chief Shafqat Mehmood resigns

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab president, Shafqat Mehmood has resigned from the party post.

In his statement, Shafqat Mehmood said that he was grateful to the chairman for the party post and could not continue his responsibilities due to illness.

Shafqat Mehmood in atwitter message said that he would continue working for the party after his recovery. He asked PTI chairman to appoint a new president for Punjab.

Earlier, there were rumours in political circles that differences has cropped up among the PTI Punjab ranks.

Shafqat Mehmood who had served as federal education minister and was appointed as president Punjab in 2022. He was reportedly unable to takeout rally on May 25, when PTI chief Imran Khan has announced long march to Islamabad.
