KARACHI, March 22,2022 – The Primary School teachers – PST who have reached the grade -12 time scale, will be awarded grade-14. These teachers were initially recruited in grade-9 in the Sindh Education Department.
Further these teachers will be promoted to Senior PST post in grade-16 and Chief PST in grade 17. They will not be made HST.
For the final approval summary has been sent to the Chief Minister.
Sindh Education Secretary, Ghulam Akbar Laghari told media that the Sindh Cabinet had decided that of the primary school teachers recruited in grade 9, and who has graduated in the educational qualification, they will be promoted from grade 9 to 14 grade, while new recruits for elementary school teachers will now be in grade 14.
Currently, there are 22,880 primary school teachers under grade 14 in Sindh, while 4877 primary teachers are working in grade 14, while 2073 in grade 15 and 43,264 teachers working in grade 16.
It is suggested in the summary that the post of primary school teacher will now be upgraded to the new name, after which they will be promoted as Senior Primary Teachers in grade 16 and later promoted as Chief Primary Teacher in grade 17.
Summary also suggested thta that 25% grade in grade 16 and 10% quota in grade 17 should also be allocated for these teachers.
When contacted, Education Secretary, Ghulam Akbar Laghari said that the post of primary school teacher has been upgraded to 14th grade but only those will be promoted from grade 9 to the grade 14 has graduation qualification, however those who are intermediate will remain in grade 9 but they will avail the time scale.
