Pakistan’s virus death rate higher than global level in July, while Pakistan reported more than 3,000 Covid cases for second straight day.
Worldwide coronavirus death rate during July was 2.15%, while Pakistan recorded 2.37%.
Pakistan has reported 3,262 coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, down from 3,752 reported a day earlier.
Another 39 fatalities were also reported during this period. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 49,412 tests were also conducted.
The total number of cases has risen to 1,011,708 and the death toll is 23,087. The positivity rate was recorded as 6.6 per cent.
Breakdown of deaths and cases reported on July 26:
Sindh: 2,153 cases, 7 deaths
Punjab: 457 cases, 20 deaths
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 214 cases, 3 deaths
Islamabad: 167 cases, 3 deaths
Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 110 cases, 4 deaths
Balochistan: 110 cases, 1 death
Gilgit-Baltistan: 51 cases, 1 death
