No confidence motion: CJP asks to follow connotational provisions

ISLAMABAD, March 19,2022- Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Umar Ata Bandial has remarked that no confidence motion is a political process and should be constitutional provisions should be followed.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan heard the petition filed on the possibility a threat of confrontation between the political parties on the issue of no confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Omar Ata Bandial, while remanding the case, remarked that as far as no confidence motion is concerned, it is a political process and we will ask the opposition parties to act according to the constitution.

He asked the Attorney General for filing a reference about 63A clause of the constitution, and added that Attorney General will file reference by Monday so that hearing can be held.

The Chief Justice said that the court has no interest in it.

Supreme Court issued notices to the People’s Party, the PML-N, PTI, JUI-F in the petition filed by the Supreme Court Bar Association.

The hearing of the petition was adjourned till one o’clock on Monday.

The Supreme Court Bar Association filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the potential threat of collision.

The petition was set for hearing on Monday before the Supreme Court.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Defense, IG Islamabad and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad have been made the parties in the petition.

Sindh House Attack: Islamabad police refuse to lodge FIR

No Suo moto 

A spokesman for the Supreme Court said that the petition has been set for hearing today after the attack on the Sindh House.

Spokesman Supreme Court has stated that no Suo moto has been taken, as two member bench will hear on Ahsan Bhoon’s petition.

Spokesman for the Supreme Court also said that the petition was related to preventing political parties from holding meetings in Islamabad before voting on the no confidence motion.

PTI workers attack Sindh House

On March 18, evening the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists raided the Sindh House in Islamabad and entered the in the House after breaking the gate.

PTI workers carrying sticks, shouted slogans against dissident MNAs opposition and in favor of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A heavy contingent of Islamabad police reached outside the Sindh House, which instructed PTI workers to return.

 PTI activists spoke hot words to the Islamabad Police SP and refused to return outside the Sindh House.

Demonstrators said MNA elected on their party tickets should resign from their seats.

Sindh House administration and member of the National Assembly Abdul Qadir Mandokhel reached the Secretariat police station against the incident that took place at the Sindh House in the Federal capital, Islamabad, but the SHO declined to receive the request.
According to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon, an application was filed against those responsible for the attack on Sindh House. But the SHO Secretariat Police refused to receive it and lodge the case.

Twelve people including two MNAs were arrested, Police arrested 12 people, including two PTI members Fahim Khan and Attaullah Niazi, who were later released on bail.

Fawad Chaudhry’s advice

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that if the Sindh House is made a new Chhanga Manga the people will not accept it.

He also said that the PPP and the PML-N should shift these people who had changed the loyalties to some other place, else the show will continue for the entire month. To whom will we stop?

Chaudhry Shujaat says

Chaudhry Shujaat, head of the PML-Q, said that this is the first no-confidence motion, in which no one is buying votes nor selling any votes, it is merely propaganda.

He appealed that both the government and the opposition should postpone the rally, if anyone was killed or killed, everyone would regret it.
