Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan and Muslim League-N (PML-N) have reached a consensus on seat adjustments in Karachi. As part of the agreement, MQM has decided to support PML-N stalwart Shehbaz Sharif on NA 242 .

Sources close to the negotiations reveal that this understanding solidifies PML-N’s presence in the city, with the party set to field candidates on five National Assembly seats and eleven Provincial Assembly seats across Karachi. The collaboration aims to strengthen the electoral prospects of both parties in the upcoming elections.

According to insider information, PML-N will contest in Malir Constituency NA 229 and NA 230, along with five provincial seats in the same constituency. Meanwhile, MQM candidates are poised to actively participate in the National and Provincial seats of Malir Constituency NA 231. Additionally, PML-N is slated to field its candidate in South District Constituency NA 239.

The electoral landscape extends beyond Karachi, with PML-N candidates venturing into National Assembly seats in Mirpur Khas, Nawabshah, and Sukkur. Simultaneously, MQM candidates are gearing up for Provincial Assembly seats in these areas.

The hotly contested NA 242 constituency in Karachi sees PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif facing off against MQM’s Mustafa Kamal and PPP’s Qadir Khan Mandukhel. The dynamics of this contest are expected to shape the political landscape in the region.

Sources also indicate that the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has pledged its support to PML-N in eight National Assembly and ten Provincial Assembly seats in Sindh, further solidifying the alliance’s standing in the upcoming elections.
