KPK govt to award scholarships to madaris students

PESHAWAR (May 24, 2021) The madaris students in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will be award scholarships on the pattern of Rehmatul lil Alameen scholarship.

This was decided at a meeting of Auqaf and Religious Affairs department, presided over by the KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. Chief Minister directed the Auqaf and Religious Affairs department to take necessary steps to initiate scholarship programme for students of registered seminaries in the province.

According to 2018 statistics, 3,028 seminaries are functioning in the province.

The meeting was informed that existing laws of the Auqaf department would be amended for the better utilization and management of these properties and present commercial rents are being reviewed to bring it at par with the market rate.
