Karachi Circular Railway plan approved,  will be completed in 4 years

Federal Ministry of Planning has approved more than 292 billion rupees for Karachi Circular Railway, the project will be completed in four years.

CDWP (Central Development Working Party) meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad, approved the Karachi Circular Railway project worth 292 billion 38 crore rupees.

According to the announcement of the meeting, the construction of 43 km dual-track urban rail mass transit system is expected to complete in a period of 4 years.

Railways Minister reviews KCR rehabilitation plan

Development as a modern urban railway will increase public transport facilities. The project is expected to benefit 457 thousand passengers per day.

According to the statement, this number of passengers is expected to reach one million daily in future.

Under the plan, electric trains will run 17 hours a day and throughout the week, with 30 stations along the corridor in the congested areas of ​​the city.

The statement added that the aim of the project is to provide safe and environment-friendly public transport to Karachi.
