Islamabad High Court returns Rs 10 million to the national treasury

ISLAMABAD  Apr 15,2023- The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has decided to cut the budget of the court for the current year and directed the concerned authorities to use the national exchequer in the public interest and in the spirit of national service. He deposited Rs 100 million, Pakistani media reported.

But on the other hand, the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court has distributed Rs 12.8 million among 1860 LHC employees from Grade 1 to 21 as honorarium.

IHC had already returned Rs 11 million in a letter sent to the Finance Division on April 13.

Sources say that a deduction of about 100 million (10 crore) rupees will be deposited in the national exchequer next month. It is said that the Finance Division has also been informed accordingly.

The Chief Justice of IHC has directed the finance department of his court not to initiate any case of honorarium in view of the current economic condition of the country.
