KARACHI Oct 13,2021- Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail has said that if the government did not release wheat by November, the price of flour will further go up.

Talking to media here on Wednesday, Imran Ismail blamed the Sindh government for the supply of expensive flour and said that the people were getting expensive flour and the Sindh government was responsible for it.

Imran Ismail said that flour is cheap in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expensive in Sindh. The Sindh government should release flour immediately.

The Sindh governor said that the federation should put pressure on Sindh to ensure the release of wheat.

Saeed Ghani responds Governor

Sindh Information and Labor Minister Saeed Ghani responding the Governor of Sindh said Governor might not have any information regarding the production, consumption and procurement of wheat. If he had some knowledge about these factors he would have not  even talked like this.

Reacting to Governor Sindh’s statement on wheat prices, Saeed Ghani said in his video statement that the country’s consumption was 28 million metric tonnes while production was 27 million tonnes, of which 20 million metric tonnes was produced in Punjab.

Saeed Ghani said that despite excessive production of wheat in Punjab, the Governor did not see any shortage of flour and increase in prices in that province.

 He said that Sindh government has been releasing procured 1.2 million tonnes of wheat from  October 15. After the release of wheat, prices will start coming down.
