LAHORE Jul, 4,2022- Punjab government on Monday announced free electricity for households using 100 units a month for the past six months.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz addressing a press conference in Lahore also announced to provide free solar panels to the needy.

The chief minister said that the provincial government gave subsidy on floor, adding that, “We are making efforts to control inflation.” He said medicine were being provided to the citizens free of cost.

The Chief Minister of Punjab also said that the hut of the poor was demolished and his Bani Gala Mahal was regularized.

Sindh Govt’s plans

Two years back, the Sindh government had announced to provide free electricity to the residents of Islamkot town in Thar coal area, but that promise was not fulfilled.

Three years back Sindh government has conducted survey to provide solar panels in rural areas of eight district on easy installments. This project has not been implemented as yet.
