The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially disclosed the schedule for the upcoming General Elections in 2024. According to the announcement, the polling day for the general elections is set for February 8, 2024.

Key dates outlined in the election schedule include:

  • Nomination Paper Submission Period: Candidates can submit their nomination papers from December 20 to December 22.
  • Nomination Paper Scrutiny: The Election Commission will scrutinize nomination papers from December 24 to December 30.
  • Appeals Against Rejection: January 3, 2024, is the deadline for filing appeals against the rejection or acceptance of nomination papers.
  • Appellate Authority Decisions: The Appellate Authority will make decisions on appeals until January 10, 2024.
  • Final Candidate List: The final list of candidates will be released on January 11.
  • Withdrawal of Nomination Papers: Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until January 12, 2024.
  • Issuance of Election Symbols: Election symbols will be issued to candidates on January 13.

In addition to announcing the election schedule, the Election Commission has reinstated the training of Returning Officers (ROs) and District Returning Officers (DROs). This decision follows the directives of the Supreme Court.
