ISLAMABAD: The government has formed a five-member committee on social media laws, says a press release issued from the Attorney General Office.

The press said in the light of the decision of the Islamabad High Court, the government has formed a committee for social media laws.

According to a press release issued by the Attorney General’s Office, Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari has been appointed as the chairperson of the five-member committee. Barrister Malika Bukhari, Senator Ali Zafar, Secretary IT and Chairman PTA will be members of the committee.

The committee would send its recommendations on social media laws to Prime Minister Imran Khan within a month.

The committee will first hear the position of all stakeholders, including the petitioner, in the Islamabad High Court and formulate its recommendations.
