Chief Election Commissioner takes notice of Shah Mehmood’s press conference

Vice Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the future of the nation would be at stake if the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) neglected its responsibility.

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner took immediate notice of the press conference of PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

During a press conference in Lahore, the Vice Chairman PTI said that the by-election of 20 constituencies of Punjab Assembly is a big test for the Election Commission.

He further said that if the Election Commission lost its credibility in 20 by-elections, the results of general elections will not be accepted.

Shah Mehmood said that Deputy Commissioners and DPOs have been told that their future depends on the result.

PTI leader alleged that the business community was being intimidated by the FBR. Hamza Shehbaz can go to any lengths to save the Chief Ministership.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi alleged that a special branch official stays with him in Multan wherever he goes for election campaign.

Chief Election Commissioner takes notice

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Raja took immediate notice of the press conference of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He directed the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab to submit the report within 24 hours.

According to sources, the Chief Election Commissioner sought an immediate report from the Punjab Provincial Election Commissioner on the allegations of violation of Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s code of conduct.

The Chief Election Commissioner directed that strict action be taken under the law in case of violation of code of conduct is proved in 19 constituencies including Multan.
