Call rates per minute on mobile phones reduced

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reduced call rates per minute on mobile phones, PTA has reduced outgoing calls from 70 paise to 50 paise per minute.

According to the announcement, the reduction in MTR was made after consultation with the telecom industry. From January 1, 2022, the mobile termination rate will be 50 paisa per minute.

The PTA said it had received requests from telecom operators to review the existing termination rates, after which MTR was fixed for local, long and international calls.

The statement said that from January to June 2022 MTR will be 50 paisa per minute, from July 2022 to June 2023 MTR will be 40 paisa per minute.

The PTA statement said that after July 2023, MTR will be 30 paisa per minute.
