Who was Madhulika Rawat?
Madhulika Rawat hails from Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh. Her father Marginder Singh has been a member of the Indian Legislative Assembly from the Congress party.
Madhulika Rawat received her early education from Shahdol and later did her Masters in Psychology from Delhi University.
She married Bipin Rawat in 1986. The couple has two daughters, the eldest daughter is married and the youngest daughter is studying.
Bipin Rawat’s wife, was also associated with NGOs like Veer Naras, that help widows of military personnel, children with disabilities and cancer patients.
Madhulika Rawat was the president of the Army Views Welfare Association (AWA), which protects the well-being of the families of defense personnel and plays a key role in helping and developing the families of soldiers.
It may be recalled that Indian Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat was killed in a helicopter crash yesterday, killing 13 people including his wife and crew members.
