US forensic expert verifies audio of former CJP Saqib Nisar

The authenticity of the audio attributed to former Chief Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar has been confirmed by a US forensic expert.

Gert Discovery, an American company specializing in multimedia forensics, confirmed the authenticity and accuracy of the audio attributed to former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar. 

Digital media platform FactFocus, which released the audio of the former Chief Justice, issued a statement in this regard.

According to media reports in a statement, FactFocus said Gert Discovery has a team of leading experts with extensive experience presenting, analyzing and testifying in US courts.

 The digital media platform added that the analytics firm looked at the audio’s spectrogram and testified that there was not a single moment’s gap in the audio.

Fact Focus also said that if there was a gap in the spectrogram, there would be a black space in the spectrogram.

 No black space was seen in the spectrogram, the black space at the beginning and end of the audio indicates where the audio started and where it ended.

2.8 seconds after the recording, the sound of the recording button is heard.

The digital media platform says FactFocus acquired the audio two months ago and had it tested by a leading US firm specializing in multimedia forensics.

The firm’s analytical report confirms the authenticity and accuracy of the audio file and states that the audio has not been tampered with in any way.

One day back, former CJP Saqib Nisar has termed this audio as fake and fabricated.
