No respite to tribal clashes even during pandemic
SHIKARPUR: At least two people were killed a clash over an old enmity between two groups of Essani community, near Garhi Yasin.
The deceased were identified as Shahzado Essani, and Raza Muhammad Essani.
Wheat husks were set on fire.
According to Dilawar Marfani police, there was an old dispute between the two groups, which had claimed five live earlier.
Tribal clashes have once again intensified in Sindh as 14 people were killed two weeks back in Jacobabad, Shahdadkot and Shikarpur districts,
Eight people including three children were killed in a fight between two rival groups in Garhi Khairo area in first week of April.
The police said that six people were killed when men belonging to the Jalbani group opened fire at the rival group’s house in village Kalo Katohar.
In retaliation the grieving members attacked of the Jalbani group and killed two people, police said. Reports said that two groups have been fighting for the last few years over the killing of a person. Fifteen people have lost their lives in the clashes.
Six people were killed and 12 were injured in a clash between the Saad Khani and Kamaani tribes in Rustam area of Shikarpur district, on pretext of Karo-Kari in Shikarpur.
Police sources said firing between Saad Khanani Jatoi and Kamalani Jatoi continued for five hours in the limits of Rustam Police Station, which created panic and fear.
Police shifted the injured to Khanpur, Shikarpur and Lakhi Ghulam Shah hospital.
Police said those killed in the firing were wanted to the police in different cases, adding a search operation has been launched to arrest the accused of both the groups.
