– Victim identified two accused of gang rape case

KARACHI, June24,2022- Significant progress was reported in the case of rape of a woman in Bahauddin Zakaria Express, as the court of Judicial Magistrate South Karachi was told that DNA samples of three main accused matched with the victim.
According to prosecution sources, DNA report of the accused has been received from Punjab Forensic Lab.
The report revealed that the DNA of the three accused matched the samples of the victim woman.
The victim has also identified two accused in the case while the court has also recorded the statement of the victim.
Five accused have been arrested in the case including Muhammad Zahid, Aqib Munir, Zohaib, Amir Raza and Abdul Hafeez.
The accused had gang-raped a woman returning to Karachi from Multan on May 28, 2022.
A case has been registered against the accused at the City Railway Police Station.
Police arrested three suspects from different cities while four security guards were also detained.
According to reports, the victim had separated from her husband a few months ago and she had gone to Muzaffargarh alone to visit her children.
According to police, Bahauddin Zakaria Express is managed by a private company instead of Pakistan Railways. The gang-rape took place on May 28 and involved two ticket checkers and a ticket in-charge.
