Suicide attack on Peshawar mosque, leaves 57 dead, 196 injured
PESHAWAR, March 4,2022- At least 57 people died and 196 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up during Friday prayers at the Jama Masjid Imamia, located in Koch Rasaldar, in the Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar.
According to SSP Operations Haroon Rasheed, it was a suicide attack, the suicide bomber opened fire on the police and entered the mosque, after which he reached the miner where he blew himself up.
According to the hospital administration, 56 bodies were at Lady Reading Hospital and one at Hayatabad Medical Complex Hospital.

The hospital administration added that 194 injured were at Lady Reading Hospital and two were injured at Hayatabad Medical Complex.
CCP Muhammad Ejaz said that two attackers tried to enter the mosque, and they opened fire on policemen on duty.
He said that one policeman was martyred while another was injured in the attack on the police team after the terrorists opened fire.
Police and law enforcement personnel cordoned off the mosque and carried out rescue operations.
