Speaker Punjab Assembly replies to the letter of Governor
Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan responded to the letter of Governor Punjab, in which he clarified his constitutional position on the ruling.
Sabatin Khan said in his letter that Governor’s letter is contrary to the facts, the Speaker has the authority to rule on every matter presented in the House. The Speaker can take independent decision on the proceedings of the Assembly.
The letter said that the ruling of the Speaker is fully protected under Article 69, and added, “the letter sent by you has no constitutional or legal status.”
Sabatin Khan said that the Chief Minister could not take the vote of confidence because of me.
Speaker Punjab Assembly said that his ruling of December 20 is completely constitutional and legal, in response to this, the letter of December 21 has no legal status.
PMLN and PPP file no-confidence motion against Pervez Elahi
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan has said that the Punjab Assembly cannot be dissolved tomorrow. The no-confidence motion has been moved, the notices will be issued now, the matter will go up to the first week of January.
Speaker Punjab Assembly said that the governor has written a letter about the motion of no confidence and the motion of confidence, but the allegations of the governor against Pervaiz Elahi are not related to the governor.
