Sindh local body election first phase: PPP won by landslide
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won the local body election in 14 districts of Sindh by a landslide.
Voters in almost all the districts stamped on the arrow, while other candidates won in very few constituencies.
According to unconfirmed and unofficial results, 302 out of 354 seats in the municipal committees have been declared so far, out of which PPP has won 239 seats.
According to unofficial results, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) won 21 seats, while 19 independent candidates have won so far.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won only 14 seats.
In the federation, the PPP’s ally JUI-F won 7 seats and other parties in the province won two seats.

The PPP also won a landslide victory in the town committees. Out of a total of 694 seats, the PPP has so far won 413 seats according to unofficial results. GDA won 57 seats in the town committees, while 62 independent candidates also won.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won only 10 seats in the town committees, JUI-F 7 and other parties won 12 seats.
Two people were killed and dozens injured in different areas.
