Sindh Info minister condemns arrest of two senior journalists
KARACHI Aug 7,2021- Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani has strongly condemned the arrest of two journalists Amir Mir and Syed Shafqat Imran by the FIA Cyber Crime Wing Lahore.
Sindh Information Minister said that the present incompetent, incompetent and selected government is harassing the journalists and obstructing them from conveying the truth to the people.
Due to the restrictions and harassment of journalists by the present government, Pakistan is becoming a dangerous country for journalists all over the world.
Saeed Ghani said that the PPP believes in freedom of expression and freedom of the press and demands that Amir Mir and Syed Shafqat Imran be released immediately from the clutches of the FIA and brought to justice.
Media quoting FIA sources said, an FIR has been registered against senior journalists Amir Mir and Imran Shafqat.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken journalists Amir Mir and Imran Shafqat into custody, Geo News reported Saturday.
Mir was picked up by the FIA’s cybercrime cell earlier today when he left his home for office. Sources said that the FIA personnel took the journalist and his car.
Mir runs a web channel nowadays.
It is not yet clear on what charges Mir and Shafqat have been arrested for by the cybercrime wing.
