Shakoor Shad refuses to resign
The Islamabad High Court suspended the notification about acceptance of the resignation of PTI MNA Shakoor Shad.
The Islamabad High Court ordered MNA Shakoor Shad to attend the assembly session.
Shakoor Shad took the stand that he resigned in unison with Imran Khan, it was jointly submitted.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Ali Zaidi said that today Shakoor Shad has refused to resign.
At a press conference in Karachi, Ali Zaidi said that PTI’s Shakoor Shad was elected from Lyari NA 246, all the MNAs had written their resignations, he himself went to the scrutiny of the papers.
In the first week of last month the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that the by-election on nine National Assembly seats vacated by the PTI will be held on Sep 25 .
The NA speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had on July 28 accepted the resignations of 11 MNAs — nine on general seats and two on reserved seats for women — belonging to the PTI, triggering recriminations from the party for the “piecemeal” acceptance, as well as a legal battle in the Islamabad High Court.
The MNAs were denotified on July 30.
