Teachers, students of SALU pay tributes to I.A Rehman

KHAIRPUR: Teachers, students of Shah Abdul Latif University and civil society repersentattives paid rich tributes to human rights crusader I.A Rehman.

Institute of International Relations, Shah Abdul Latif University, in Collaboration with Rotary Club Khairpur, Gradsy International, Calyx Foundation and The Accountability Lab Pakistan, organized a condolences reference in the memory of international peace and human rights leader I.A.Rehman at Social Sciences Faculty Auditorium of Shah Abdul Latif University,Khairpur.

Prof Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences presided over the reference.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Lashari lauded the tireless efforts of late I.A Rehman. He uttered that Rehman Sahib was among luminaries and legends of human rights, peace and social justice. He was very generous in visiting Shah Abdul Latif University,Khairpur to empower the faculty and students through his intellectual thoughts.

Professor Dr Amir Ahmad Khuhro, Director Institute of International Relations in his Keynote speech highly appreciated the efforts of Late I.A Rehman and said his thoughts will be made part of course work of the discipline of International Relations& Peace and Conflict Studies.

Executive Director, Students Advancement Fund Endowment and Charter President of Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai Sarfaraz Ali Korejo said Guest lecture series through the Rotary and other partner organizations would be made a regular feature now.

He added that  soon a MoU will be inked by Rotary with Department of the Peace and Conflict Studies of Shah Abdul Latif University.

Reza Shahani faculty member of Department of Pakistan Study also spoke on the occasion.

Prof.Dr Liaqat Ali Chandio, Aijaz Ahmad Shaikh, Dr Zaheer Hussain Soomro and large number of university students attended the event.
