PPP's Ali Musa Gilani defeated PTI's Meher Bano Qureshi by 25,186 votes

By-election of three NA seats in Punjab – Multan, Faisalabad, Nankana are being held today. Over all polling in eight NA seats are going on.

These seats were declared vacant after the Election Commission of Pakistan accepted the resignation of PTI MNA.

The total number of registered voters in NA-157 Multan seat is 462,205 and eight candidates are participating in the by-election from here.

On the Multan seat, PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s daughter Meher Bano Qureshi and PPP leader Yusuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Musa Gilani are the PDM candidates who are expected to face tough competition.

Tehreek-e-Labeek candidate Tahir Ahmed and five other independent candidates have also contested for this seat.

Faisalabad NA 108: Imran Khan vs Abid Sher Ali

The number of registered voters in NA-108 Faisalabad is 505186, in which the number of male voters is 271,039 while the number of female voters is 234,147.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is participating in the elections from this seat too, while Abid Sher Ali is the candidate of PDM on the ticket of Muslim League-N.

The NA-108 Faisalabad seat fell vacant after the resignation of PTI leader Farrukh Habib.

Imran Khan is candidate in NA-118 Nankana too

The total number of voters in NA 118 Nankana is 450,810 where the number of male voters is 250,871 and the number of female voters is 199,939.

In NA-118 Nankana, PTI’s candidate is Imran Khan, while PDM’s Dr. Shazra Mansab and TLP’s Afzal Ahmad Rizvi are also candidates.

319 polling stations have been established for NA-118 Nankana by-election.

Polling on 3 seats of Punjab Assembly

The polling process for the by-elections in the Punjab Assembly seats PP 139 Sheikhupura, PP 209 Khanewal and PP 241 Bahawalnagar is going on.

PTI and PMLN expect tough competition on PP 139

The number of voters in PP 139 is 227541 and 153 polling stations have been set up here.

Chaudhary Iftikhar Bhangu is the candidate of PML-N for this seat of the Provincial Assembly, while Mian Abubakar Sharqpuri of PTI and Mian Rauf Ahmed of TLP are also candidates.

This seat was vacant due to the defection of Jalil Sharqpuri of the PML-N.

Polling continues on pp. 209

In PP 209 the number of registered voters in Khanewal is 258,703 while 176 polling stations have been established here.

Khanewal’s seat fell vacant due to the resignation of PML-N’s Faisal Akram Niazi and now Faisal Akram Khan is contesting the by-elections on a PTI ticket.

On PP 209, PML-N’s Chaudhry Zia-ur-Rehman and TLP’s Rao Arif Ali are candidates.

Tough fight between PML-N and PTI on PP-241

237046 voters will exercise their right to vote in PP 241 Bahawalnagar and 7 candidates are contesting for this seat.

A tough fight is expected between PML-N’s Amanullah Bajwa and PTI’s Malik Muzaffar Ali.
