PSL on Jan 27 in Karachi, Arrangements finalised
KARACHI, Jan 18,2022- Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon chaired a meeting at his office on Tuesday to finalize the arrangements for the PSL – Pakistan Super League to begin on January 27, at Karachi National Stadium.
Parking arrangement and Shuttle services
The meeting reviewed the arrangements of security, Traffic management, parking arrangement and Shuttle services to be provided from the Hakeem Saeed Ground university road, Gharib Nawaz ground Daalmia and coaching centre, in addition to the supply of uninterrupted electricity, street lights installation, cleanliness, and the arrangements for the enforcement of corona SOPs as per directives of the NCOC.
Fool proof security
It was decided in the meeting that fool proof security would be provided on the occasion. SSP East other Senior Officials of Police, Pakistan Rangers briefed the commissioner and the participants of the meeting about the security arrangements being made for the security on the occasion.
Traffic arrangements
Due to the expected traffic congestion on the occasion it was decided that special arrangements would be made to avoid traffic congestion on the adjoining roads of the National Stadium so that vehicular and pedestrian traffic do not face any difficulty.
Controversy erupts about PSL – 6
Commissioner Memon asked the officials to ensure alternative roads are managed as per convenience to the traffic. It was also decided in the meeting that Sharae Faisal and other main roads and intersections in different districts of the city specially the district east, south and Malir and central would be beautified. Portraits and cut outs of the players would be displayed for the attraction of cricket lovers.
Commissioner asked the officials to play their role to make PSL successful.
Not sure how many spectators
General Manager of the Stadium Arshad khan told the meeting that they are not sure how many spectators would by allowed by the NCOC. He expected that the NCOC will consider how many spectators would be allowed for the PSL matches in its meeting to be held on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended among others by the Deputy Commissioner East Asif Jan siddiqui, Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Sodhar , Deputy Commissioner Malir Ghanwer Laghari ,Assist Commissioner General Abid Qamar, PCB Reprsentative General Manager of KNS Arshad Khan, Senior officials of Police , Pakistan Rangers, KMC, KW&SB, Cantonment Boards, Solid Waste Management Board, DMCs.
