ISLAMABAD, Jan 17,2022- In the wake of increasing cases of corona virus, provinces will decide about closure of schools.
While the NCOC has decided to implement new SOPs for areas with 10% or more corona cases across the country.
The new SOPs will be finalized in consultation with the provinces. Smart lockdown or decisions such as opening a school with one exception will be made in consultation with the provinces.
A meeting was held at the National Command and Operations Center under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Umar. Dr. Faisal Sultan also attended the meeting through video link while Ministers of Education and Ministers of Health were also present.
The meeting decided to strictly implement SOPs to curb the spread of Corona.
The NCOC meeting considered the Corona situation and educational activities during the current wave of Omicron.

How to control uncontrollable corona? What new health guidelines should be issued? Should schools be open or closed? Decisions regarding all these situations will be taken in consultation with the provinces.

Karachi school
A private school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 10 area of Karachi has closed classes from 1st to 5th class.
Private school administration says students in grades one through five will take online classes, while students in grades six to eight will be invited in groups.
