PPP is well ahead in Sindh LB polls . Ruling party the PPP won the local body elections in 14 districts of Sindh, with GDA second and PTI third, according to unofficial preliminary results.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results so far, PPP has won 161 seats in the Municipal Committees, while independent candidates have won 16 seats. GDA backed candidates got 14 seats, PTI 6 and JUI got 5 seats.
In the town committees, the PPP is well ahead of other parties with 305 seats, with 49 GDA backed candidates and 38 independents winning. Eight from PTI, six from JUI and seven from other parties have won the seats.

Earlier, the polling period was extended by the Election Commission after the polling time ended at 5 pm.
Sindh Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chauhan has said that a new date for re-election will be announced, where the election was affected today.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Election Commissioner Sindh Ejaz Anwar Chauhan said that voting was going on at more than 9,000 polling stations in 14 districts of Sindh.
