KARACHI: A public meeting regarding by-election in constituency 249, scheduled on April 26 has been postponed on the directive of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that party chairman made the decision in view of the Corona virus situation.

The minister said, the Sindh government has played a leading role in the prevention of corona virus since its inception and added that due to the wise decisions of the Sindh government, the situation in the province today is not as bad as in other provinces of the country.

He said the Sindh is the only province to have set up a separate hospital for Covid 19 in Karachi and added more hospitals for infectious diseases are being set up in other districts as well.

The Sindh government has spent a large portion of its budget on prevention and treatment of corona virus. Sindh hospitals have a good supply of ventilators, oxygen and other essentials.

The Sindh government has allocated Rs 1.5 billion for the purchase of Corona vaccine, said Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
