Bilawal demands unconditional apology from PDM for PPP, ANP

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) instructed its leaders in holding office in PDM to quit their responsibilities and submit their resignations to the party, adding that the Central Executive Committee has rejected the show cause notice.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari told a news conference after the two-day meeting of the party’s central executive committee, that an unconditional apology has been demanded from PDM by the Awami National Party and PPP. The politics of unity is done on the basis of equality, dignity and equality, said Bilawal.

Show cause are not issued in any Opposition alliance. When you stood with GDA in Sindh and with Buzdar government in Punjab, why show cause notice was not given, he asked.

We support opposition politics against the government, but there is opposition politics within the opposition PPP chairman said.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the long march of the opposition was damaged under a conspiracy by linking it with resignations. Resignation is an atom bomb, this is the last weapon and added that He stands by his position. This historic position proved to be correct. The government was exposed in the by-elections. The world saw that the people are with the opposition and not with the government.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said, “by boycotting, we did not want to give free seats to the PTI. No one can impose his personal desire on the opposition and the PPP”.

Talking about CEC decisions Bilawal said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has rejected the financial deal between the government and the IMF and has announced to continue its struggle against it during the month of Ramadan.

The party was opposed to the 500 million deal, which was anti-people and against economic interests of the country. The government should get out of this deal, he demanded

He opposed giving more powers to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and said that the SBP was declared unconstitutional by an order, now it is not accountable to the parliament and judiciary, it is only accountable to the IMF that is Pakistan’s sovereignty. This ordinance should be brought before the people.

He criticized the PTI government’s Kashmir policy and said that the government’s confusing and contradictory policy was being followed when India was persecuting in Kashmir where the people could not speak. “does Kashmir needs an incompetent Prime Minister who cannot even defend his country. If the Parliament is taken concern, they can compete with the whole of India.” he added.

On Sunday, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tore apart the show-cause notice served to his party by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Bilawal, during the CEC meeting, read out the show-cause notice served to PPP by PDM’s secretary-general Shahid Khaqan Abbasi — and after that, he tore it.

Addressing the CEC meeting, Bilawal said he had come into politics for respect, and nothing was greater than respect.

The PPP leadership will conclude the CEC meeting tomorrow sources within Bilawal House said.

During the meeting, Opposition Leader in the Senate Yousuf Raza Gillani offered his resignation as Leader of the Opposition.

His proposal was unanimously rejected by the CEC, as well as PPP President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

Around 50 PPP leaders in attendance, are discussing the current political situation and the relations between the Opposition parties and the overall anti-government strategy of the party.
