Pakistan’s military leadership briefed the parliamentary leadership on the regional situation

Pakistan’s military leadership briefed the parliamentary and political leadership on the situation in Occupied Kashmir, Afghanistan and the region at in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security here on Thursday.

The political and parliamentary leadership expressed satisfaction over the briefing.

According to the statement, the meeting was chaired by committee chairman Asad Qaiser.

The Ministry of Information released the details of the in-camera meeting. DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed said in the briefing that Pakistan would welcome the people’s representative government in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s territory is not being used in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. Hopes that Afghan soil will not be used against Pakistan.

After the briefing, a question and answer session was held. Discussions on the recommendations of the political and parliamentary leadership, the recommendations will be considered an important part of the security policy, Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend the meeting.

Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, political leadership including the four chief ministers and army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also attended.
