Finance adviser Shaukat Tarin has said that the IMF program has slowed down the economy and unexpectedly created food shortages in the country. Pakistan was saved by 29 billion remittances from overseas Pakistanis
Addressing a function of CFA Society Pakistan in Karachi, Finance Advisor Shaukat Tarin said that Pakistan was saved by 29 billion remittances from overseas Pakistanis.
Shaukat Tarin said that Pakistan was a bigger economy than South Korea and Saudi Arabia in 1968. After the removal of East Pakistan, our path did not remain the same. The country’s economy was nationalized.
Shaukat Tarin said that we joined the war in Afghanistan without any reason.
The finance adviser said that the energy sector is being given a subsidy of Rs 770 billion, 85% of Pakistan’s debt is used in seven cities.
Shaukat Tareen said that people below the poverty line have been waiting for the impact of the economy for 70 years.
