Adviser Abdul Razzaq Dawood says Australia approved import of Pakistani mangoes

Waheed Ahmed pointed out that the Rs 100 billion mango industry is facing difficulties due to climate change, water scarcity, extra fares, limited flights and closure of business in major global shopping malls. Due to climate change, mango production is expected to fall by 15% this season.

Waheed Ahmed suggested that Japan, the United States, Australia, South Korea and China are the best-selling markets for mangoes. Demand is rising in Russia and China, the government should work on the promotion of mangoes in these countries, and adopt a strategy to easily access high value markets by shaping mangoes through research and development.

Razzaq Dawood said in a statement on Twitter that Australia had approved two treatment facilities for importing Pakistani mangoes.
