Electricity is likely to be expensive by Rs3.53 per unit

Nepra increased the cost of electricity, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has issued a notification to increase the price of electricity by 40 paisa per unit.

According to the Nepra notification, the cost of electricity has been increased due to the September fuel adjustment and the additional charges will be levied on the consumers in the November bills.

According to the notification, this increase will not be applicable to lifeline and K-electric customers.

Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification for increasing gas prices. The new gas prices will be applicable from November 1.

According to the notification, the price has not been increased for protected consumers of gas from 25 to 90 cubic meters per month. Fixed charges for protected customers increased from Rs.10 to Rs.400.

The gas price for non-protected domestic consumers has been increased by more than 172%.

The price of 25 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs.200 to Rs.300 per mmbtu. The price of 60 cubic meters of gas per month has been increased from Rs.300 to Rs.600 per mmbtu.
