MUET Academia, officers, employees disown letter purportedly written against VC Dr Uqaili

JAMSHORO, (June 25, 2021): Teachers, officers and employees of Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) Jamshoro have defended the VC Dr Aslam Uqaili and termed the letter attributed to them in the media as misleading and completely wrong.

Mehran University Teachers Association (MUTA), Mehran University Officers Welfare Association and Mehran University Employees Welfare Association have termed the letter by a female lecturer of MUET, a suspended officer who was subjected to court trial in MUET Inquiry and Cyber ​​Crime case, a former MUET officer who was suspended after being found guilty of fraud in medical bills and an officer who came under an inquiry as malicious.

President of Mehran University Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Sheikh, general secretary Dr. Nasrullah Pirzada, president of Officers Association Javed Ali Shah, general secretary Ghazi Khan Parhiar, president of Mehran University Welfare Association Ali Muhammad Shoro and general secretary Ghulam Shabir Baloch in a joint statement said that Prof. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili has developed MUET and under his leadership the university has earned a positive name in the country as well as in the world.

The records and profiles of those who have tarnished the image of Dr Uqaili and MUET through false allegations should be checked.

A statement issued by the main stakeholders of the MUET said that some of the names mentioned in the letter have been convicted while trials and hearings are being held in other courts.

Likewise, the statement further reads, some people are facing investigation for the violation of rules and regulations of MUET.

The Mehran University Employees’ Union has revealed that four of the employees mentioned in the media application did not belong or attached with MUET as employee. Their records can be checked by any individual or institution, the employees union added.
