Modern facial recognition system activated at Karachi Airport

KARACHI, 23, 2023- Advanced Facial Recognition System (FRS) has been activated at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

According to the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority, the FIA has been handed over to the FRS control room.

Civil Aviation is looking after the monitoring, maintenance and management of the project, according to the spokesman,.

FIA will use the technology to prevent anti-human trafficking and other crimes.

Two institutions have agreed to jointly deploy staff for the FRS system the spokesman said.

According to the CAA spokesperson, the Airport Manager and Deputy Director FIA signed the document.

Regarding this system, the spokesperson of CAA says that this modern system will help in enforcing the law at Jinnah International Airport.

The CAA spokesperson said that the faces on the watch list will be identified and traced at the airport through this system.

According to the spokesperson, apart from Karachi, this system is also installed at the airports of Lahore, Islamabad and Multan.
