M-tag made mandatory for travelling on M2

LAHORE Dec 07,2021- M-tag is made mandatory for travelling on M2, following the order of  Lahore High Court.

On the order of LHC, entry of vehicles without M-tag has been banned on Motorway M2 from December 7. Vehicles owners are turning to motorway entry points to get M-tags following the court order, but they complain that they have to travel long distances to get M-tags.

Stopping vehicles at toll plazas increases air pollution, so the Lahore High Court has ruled that after December 7, no vehicle will be able to come on motorways or highways without M-tag. If you have M-tag, you don’t have to wait for entry.

M-tag booths have been set up at toll plazas in major cities, where M-tags can be applied in just 5 minutes by showing the original CNIC and vehicle number or by showing the vehicle documents. There is no fee for tagging, only it is necessary to recharge.

A spokesman Motorway Police said in a statement that the decision would apply to all motorways joining the main Ravi Toll Plaza.
