LONDON Nov 16,2021 Monitoring Desk The notary public Charles Guthrie who signed and verified the affidavits of former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Justice Rana Shamim has confirmed that the affidavit was recorded before me on November 10, 2021 in London, leading daily reported.

IHC summons Justice Shamim and Jang group journalists

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has taken notice of the publication of the affidavit of former Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Court Rana Shamim’s affidavit. The Supreme Court has issued notice to former Chief Justice Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Muhammad Shamim, Ansar Abbasi, Editor-in-Chief of Jang Group, Editor of The News International Islamabad and Editor of Investigation and summoned him in person on Nov 16.Speaking to The News and Geo News, London’s Notary Public Charles Guthrie confirmed that Justice (retd) Rana Shamim had recorded the affidavit before me and that I had signed the affidavit.  

Charles Guthrie also confirmed that he had worked for the Pakistan High Commission when the JIT was formed in the Panama case and the NAB needed certified documents from London to present in the courts.

Standing Committee summoned Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, Senior journalists Ansar Abbasi and Amir Ghauri.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting convened a meeting of the committee on November 22 on the revelations of former Chief Justice Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Muhammad Shamim. Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.

The chairman of the committee Mian Javed Latif said that the statement of Rana Shamim was very important.
