Lahore: Schools, colleges closed for another 7 days due to smog

The Lahore High Court directed to extend winter holidays due to smog. Lahore High Court held a hearing on petitions for remedying smog.

The court remarked that prevention of smog is the responsibility of the government.

Lahore High Court summoned DG PDMA and adjourned the hearing on the smog relief petitions till Friday.

The court directed to close the schools and colleges of Lahore for another 7 days to remedy the smog.

Three holidays in a week in Lahore schools 

A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on petitions for remedying smog.

During the hearing, the Lahore High Court directed that holidays should be extended due to smog.

Lahore: Flights affected due to fog, trains delayed

Passenger trains coming from Karachi and Quetta are delayed due to fog in Lahore, while air operations at the airport have also been affected.

According to the railway spokesperson, Pakistan Express is delayed by 7 and a half hours, Pak Business Express by 6 hours and Tezgam Express by 5 hours.

The spokesman of the Railways says that the Milat and Rehman Baba Express are delayed by 4 and a half hours while the Karachi Express is delayed by 4 hours.

Railway spokesperson also says that Karakoram Express, Jafar Express coming from Machh and Allama Iqbal Express are delayed by 4 hours, while Khyber Mail Express is delayed by 2 hours.
