LAHORE Sep 30,2021- The Lahore Sessions Court has issued a written order for a September 29 hearing on singer Ali Zafar’s defamation suit against singer Meesha Shafi.
The court summoned Meesha Shafi, her husband and mother Saba Hameed for the next hearing.
Meesha Shafi, who has acted in films such as The Reluctant Fundamentalist, says music star Ali Zafar subjected her to “harassment of a physical nature”.
Ali Zafar “categorically” denied the claims and will take legal action.
Additional Sessions Judge Azhar Iqbal Ranjha issued a two-page written order.
The written order said that Meesha Shafi, Saba Hameed, Mohammad Mahmood should appear at the next hearing for cross-examination on their statements.
The ordert said that Meesha Shafi, Saba Hameed and Mohammad Mahmood have recorded their statements in the defamation suit.
According to Ali Zafar’s lawyer, the statements of the three witnesses are yet to be cross-examined.
The court adjourned the case till October 19.
