KWSB: 4.5 lakh consumers never paid water bills
KARACHI, Mar 30,2023- The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB)has detected 4.5 lakh consumers who have not paid their bills to date, and has started issuing warrants to recover Rs 24 billion from them, giving them seven days’ time. After that the properties of those who do not pay the bills will be attached.
KWSB CEO, Salahuddin Haider said that the board has identified all the consumers in the city who have never paid their water bills, they include residential as well as commercial customers, and their addresses have been found.
The board has started issuing notices, after that the properties will be affected. In this regard, a meeting will be held with KMC and KDA and they will take help. Secretary Municipal Corporation Najam Shah is leading the campaign.
KWSB head said that the Recovery and Resource Generation Department (RRG) of the Water Board had given a lot of time to increase the recovery but there was no improvement, now it has been decided to include three to four officers from outside in this department. While action will be taken against the inspector to the director for poor performance. (Monitoring Desk)
