Karachi: Election offices of PPP and PTI attacked, many workers injured

Election offices belonging to two major political parties, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), were subjected to attacks in different areas of Karachi, resulting in numerous injuries among party workers.

The incident unfolded at the PPP office located in NA 250 and PS 129 under the jurisdiction of the Haidari police station in Karachi. During the assault, four PPP workers sustained injuries. Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, a representative of the party, has alleged that the attackers were affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The police have confirmed the injuries to four PPP workers and reported that a formal complaint has been lodged by the party regarding the attack.

Simultaneously, the PTI office also fell victim to violence, with the party claiming that more than ten of its workers, including Arslan Khalid, the candidate for NA-248, were injured. The PTI workers injured in the attack were promptly transported to Abbasi Shaheed and Civil Hospital. Outraged by the incident, PTI supporters gathered at Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk to protest against the assault, demanding justice.

This recent wave of attacks on political offices follows the assault on a corner meeting held by PPP candidate Agha Rafiullah in Malir Gulshan Bunir district just two days ago.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the violence, expressing concern over the firing at Agha Rafiullah’s corner meeting. Bilawal Bhutto extended his best wishes for the swift recovery of the two PPP supporters and two Jiyalas who sustained injuries during the incident.
