By-elections Results: PTI win six, PPP bags secures 2 NA seats

Polling for by-elections is going on in two National Assembly constituencies NA-237 Malir and NA-239 Korangi in Karachi. 

These seats were declared vacant after the Election Commission of Pakistan accepted the resignation of PTI MNA.

PTI chief Imran Khan is contesting on two NA seats of Karachi also.

First vote cast in NA-239 Karachi

The first vote was cast at Polling Station No. 113 for the by-election to National Assembly Constituency NA-239 of Karachi at around 9 am.

Polling for by-elections in 8 NA constituencies going on

Polling staff is present in polling station No: 190 of the same constituency, but no polling agent was present and no voter has come to cast their vote yet.

NA 237 Malir: Imran Khan Vs Hakeem Baloch

194 polling stations have been set up for the election process in NA-237, out of which 112 are highly sensitive and 82 are sensitive polling stations.

The number of registered voters in NA 237 Malir Karachi is 294699.

The seat fell vacant after the resignation of PTI’s Jameel Ahmad Khan.

There are 11 candidates competing in this constituency, of which PTI candidate Imran Khan and PPP candidate Abdul Hakeem Baloch are in a tough contest.

NA 239 Korangi

330 polling stations have been set up in NA 239 Korangi out of which 257 polling stations are highly sensitive and 73 are sensitive.

The number of registered voters in this constituency is 581888.

The seat fell vacant after the resignation of PTI’s Muhammad Akram Cheema.

In this constituency, 22 candidates are participating in the by-election, in which PTI Chairman Imran Khan and MQM’s Nair Raza are prominent candidates.

According to the Provincial Election Commissioner, CCTV cameras have been installed at the most sensitive polling stations, while Rangers and Army are also present for assistance. (News Desk)
