Jemima happy on screening of Joyland in Pakistan
Imran Khan’s ex-wife, British filmmaker Jemima Goldsmith has also expressed her happiness over the film ‘Joyland’ being allowed to be screened in Pakistan.
Jemima Goldsmith has shared a screenshot on her Instagram story about the news that the film ‘Joyland’, nominated for the Academy Awards, has been allowed to be screened in Pakistan.
Sharing this screenshot, she tagged Pakistani director Saim Sadiq on her Instagram story and congratulated him for getting permission to release his film in Pakistan.
The story of the film ‘Joyland’ revolves around a young man and a transgender who fall in love while working in a dance club.
Directed by Saim Sadiq, the cast of this film includes Sarmad Khost, Sarwat Geelani, Alina Khan, Sohail Samir, Salman Pir, Sania Saeed, Kanwal Khost, Zoya Ahsan, Sana Jafri and Qasim Abbas, while the music of the film is by Abdullah Siddiqui.
It should be noted that the controversial film ‘Joyland’, after receiving a great reception at the international level and receiving several awards, has finally been allowed to be screened in Pakistan after deleting some parts.

The Punjab government has stopped the screening of the controversial film Joyland across the province.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab Information Department, the screening of the film ‘Joyland’ has been banned in view of the continuous complaints from various quarters.
