Jahangir Tareen withdraws bail application, FIA says arrest not needed

LAHORE (June 11, 2021): Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen’s lawyer on Friday withdrew their bail applications in money laundering and corporate fraud case, as FIA recorded statement that there was no need to arrest the accused.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen appeared in Lahore Sessions Court, on completion of interim bail in a money laundering and corporate fraud case.

Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen accompanied the lawmakers to the Sessions Court and appeared before the Additional Sessions Judge.

During the hearing on Jahangir Tareen’s bail application, his lawyer said that we are withdrawing bail application in money laundering and corporate fraud case.

During the hearing of the case, the statement of the investigating officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was recorded in the court. The officer told the court that there was no need to arrest the accused. We are reviewing the record. Not required

During the hearing of the case, Tareen’s lawyer told the court that the details of where and how the money came into the account are all there. Rather, the case was that of the SECP.

“We believe in fundamental rights. There is no need to arrest Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen in this case,” the FIA ​​told the court.

On this, Jahangir Tareen’s lawyer said that if there is a need for arrest, the FIA ​​should inform first. The FIA ​​officer said that if any action has to be taken, they will inform.

Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Tareen also withdrew his bail application in the Banking Court case after which the court disposed of the bail application on the basis of withdrawal.

Tareen group to support in budget approval

Jahangir Khan Tareen’s like-minded lawmakers including provincial minister Noman Langarial, provincial minister Jamal Cheema, former minister Zawar Warraich, MPA Lala Tahir Randhawa, MPA Sardar Khurram Leghari and other members met with Jahangir Tareen.

The Tareen supporter lawmakers discussed the progress of the Jahangir Tareen case. The issue of implementation of the Punjab government’s promises was also discussed in the meeting.

The group also discussed the strategy for the next financial year’s budget. It was decided in the consultation that the group would fully support the government in approving the budget for the next financial year.
