Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan backed away from immediate dissolution of the assemblies and took a positive U-turn and offered talks to the federation.
Addressing the parliamentary party in Lahore, Imran Khan threatened, if a date for the elections was not given, he will opt dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
Imran Khan said that the only plan of the government is to somehow disqualify Imran Khan and put him in jail and added, until there is political stability, there will be no economic stability.
The PTI chairman said that we have decided to dissolve the assemblies so that elections are held and stability is brought to the country, and maintained that elections are to be held in the country to bring political stability and after that economic stability.
Imran Khan said that the government has no road map to revive the economy, as the whole world is saying that we are heading towards default, remittances have started falling and claimed that during his tenure, the risk of debt default was 5 per cent, but now it was 100%. Now investors don’t trust the incumbent government.
PTI Chairman said that when there will be no foreign investment in Pakistan, banks will not give loans. Elaborating his point said, tax collection has started falling, what is the road map they have to get the country out of the economic crisis, Isehaq Dar was sitting quietly.
There will be no stability in the country if the elections were not held, he emphasized and said entire Pakistan is behind the decision to dissolve the assemblies.
PTI Chairman said, if Punjab and KP assembly are dissolved, in 66 percent Pakistan there will be election, we give them a chance, sit and talk with us, give the date of the general elections, but are they are afraid of the election.
Members express reservations
Reports said that the members expressed reservations about the immediate dissolution of the assembly in the meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab parliamentary party.
According to sources, Imran Khan has decided after the meeting that he will hold meetings with the members on the dissolution of assemblies at the division level from Sunday.
