Ground staff, PSL officers, families of players also affected by Corona

 KARACHI, Jan 20,2022 – To save Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) from Corona, matches will now start with 12 out of 20 fit players. PSL officers and families of players have been also been affected.

PSL chief Usman and his wife and senior officer Aun Zaidi are also in 10-day isolation after their corona test came back positive.

Five foreigners of Quetta Gladiators were victims of Corona before coming to Pakistan. Now Captain Sarfraz Ahmed’s mother and wife are also affected by Corona.

On the other hand, a bubble is being made in the hotel for the players of PSL while for the first time even the ground staff will not be allowed to go home.

PSL on Jan 27 in Karachi, Arrangements finalised

Karachi’s High Performance Center has been turned into a bubble for the ground staff.

PCB officials are avoiding face to face meetings and most of the meetings are being held online.

Earlier, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon chaired a meeting at his office on Tuesday to finalize  the arrangements  for the PSL – Pakistan Super League to begin on  January 27, at Karachi National Stadium.

Parking arrangement and Shuttle services

The meeting reviewed the arrangements of security, Traffic management, parking arrangement and Shuttle services to be provided from the Hakeem Saeed Ground university road, Gharib Nawaz ground Daalmia and coaching centre, in addition to the supply of uninterrupted electricity, street lights installation, cleanliness, and the arrangements for the enforcement of corona SOPs as per directives of the NCOC.

Fool proof security

It was decided in the meeting that fool proof security would be provided on the occasion. SSP East other Senior Officials of Police, Pakistan Rangers briefed the commissioner and the participants of the meeting about the security arrangements being made for the security on the occasion.

Traffic arrangements

Due to the expected traffic congestion on the occasion it was decided that special arrangements would be made to avoid traffic congestion on the adjoining roads of the National Stadium so that vehicular and pedestrian traffic do not face any difficulty.
