Foreign dignitaries allowed Markhor hunting in 5 districts of Pakistan

The federal cabinet has approved security during Markhor hunting in five districts of Punjab, sources said.
It may be noted that a few days ago, a record bid of 186,000 dollars was made for Markhor hunting in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The record bid for Markhor hunting in the Gilgit Trophy Hunting Scheme was given by a company called Shikar Safari.
The company had bid 186000 dollars i.e 5 crore 17 lakh 8 thousand Pakistani rupees for hunting Markhor.
The company placed a bid of 1 lakh 86 thousand dollars i.e. 5 crore 17 lakh 8 thousand Pakistani rupees for hunting Markhor.
Last year, Mehran Safari had acquired a Markhor hunting permit for $165,000.
Different companies have got permits for Markhor hunting in different areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
80 percent of the revenue earned from hunting wild animals is given to the community adjacent to the hunting site and 20 percent is deposited in the national treasury.
